Christ College, Concordia University Irvine’s School of Theology, Philosophy, and Church Vocations, is seeking faculty in the following area:
Director of Christian Education
Responsibilities may include teaching sophomore-level Core classes and introductory writing courses. Depending on the candidate's strengths, courses in additional fields of interest such as literary criticism and American literature may also be included. Other responsibilities will include assessment, student advising/mentoring, office hours, program recruitment, and service to the university and department. An interest in undergraduate research in the humanities is desired.
A terminal degree in an appropriately connected area is strongly preferred; evidence of exemplary teaching is expected. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of the interconnection between faith and learning, and understand and value a Christian liberal arts approach to higher education. Part-time faculty positions may also be considered.
