Job Specifications: Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred. One to three years direct experience with students in a post-secondary education institution. Successful candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills.
General Summary: Provide support to Career and Technical Education students to help them improve grade point averages, term-to-term retention and graduation rates.
Job Duties: 1. Provide support to students enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs to achieve the current goals of the Perkins Grant.
2. Interact with CTE students to boost grade point averages via classroom workshops, facilitated studies and/or one-on-one academic sessions with students.
3. Work with CTE students to improve term-to-term retention rates through the Early Intervention program, mid-term grade evaluations and by assisting students with college policies and procedures.
4. Inform CTE students of Perkins Grant services through classroom presentations, mailings and other means of communications.
5. Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of interactions with CTE student via the various databases utilized by the Perkins Grant.
6. Initiate and maintain contact with faculty regarding CTE student progress and to coordinate academic services.
7. Act as a liaison with Career Services, Counseling, Financial Aid, Supportive Services, Advisement and the Learning Center for CTE students.
8. Participate in appropriate professional development activities as well as college meetings and committees.
9. Ability to travel to campuses, college centers and off campus locations may be necessary.
10. Perform other duties and other Perkins related duties as required or assigned.
