Job Specifications: Associates Degree in art, theater, multi-media, or liberal arts, with two to three years of experience in an art lab and/or theater required. Word, Excel and Outlook experience preferred.
Physical Requirements: May require physical exertion to move, lift, or carry heavy boxes or other heavy materials including stage scenery and ceramics materials weighing up to 50 pounds (with or without assistance); may be required to climb ladders up to 25 feet and work in high places in the theater; may be required to work with hand and power tools, and rig and pull rope for stage productions; may be required to stand for long periods of time; may be exposed to hazardous waste materials.
General Summary: Support the faculty in the Humanities Department with the set up of laboratories and other special areas and with the preparation of classes and facilities for programs being offered at the College.
Job Duties: 1. Orient faculty, adjunct faculty, and students to laboratory, instructional areas, or facilities; serve as resource person for faculty and students.
2. Assist faculty in preparation of laboratories and specialized instructional materials, including required equipment and supplies.
3. Maintain systemized order and cleanliness in laboratories and stockroom facilities.
4. Maintain inventory of all equipment and supplies in the laboratories and order supplies as needed.
5. Repair broken or damaged equipment or arrange for repair of equipment with outside agencies when necessary.
6. Assist with the technical aspects of operating a theater and presenting theatrical productions.
7. Coordinate the requests for the use of the Campus facilities by outside groups.
8. Assist Department Head with department budget.
9. Identify any hazardous waste and prepare it for removal from the College.
10. Supervise work-study students as needed.
11. Perform other related duties ad required or assigned.
