Coe College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Rhetoric with responsibility for coordinating the Writing Across the Curriculum program, beginning fall 2014. Coe's teaching load is six courses per year with release time available for administrative duties. Teaching duties include a First Year Seminar and Rhetoric department courses, such as introductory writing courses, critical thinking and cultural analysis, creative nonfiction, and courses in the area of the candidate's expertise. Coordination of the WAC program includes assessment of writing, faculty development in writing pedagogy, and service on relevant committees.
Candidates should demonstrate evidence of excellence in teaching, ongoing scholarship and professional development, expertise in composition theory, and familiarity with writing program administration. Ph.D. in Composition Studies, Rhetoric, or a closely related field by August 2014 is required.
