We are proud of our accomplishments. Most recently:
- Our notable graduates include Washington's Outstanding Principal of the Year and Teacher of the Year.
- This year CityU became part of an elite group of 17 institutions throughout North America to receive global PMI accreditation, one of only 34 in the world.
- Our accrediting body, the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) granted CityU candidate status to offer a doctoral degree.
- Starbucks selected CityU as one of only two institutions in the U.S. to offer Starbucks partners and their families an exclusive educational experience.
We are very much a student-centered university. Several things set us apart from other colleges and universities. Our faculty members are dedicated seasoned professionals who bring their real world experience to the classroom. Students can apply tomorrow what they learn today. Standardized entrance tests (such as the GRE, MAT or GMAT) are not required for admission to our graduate programs. SAT scores aren’t evaluated. High school GPA isn’t an issue, so long as you have a diploma or GED. Anyone with the desire to learn can enroll at CityU. While it may be easy to get in, students work hard a leave with a valuable education.
Sometimes students get undergraduate
credit for life experiences. Past employment, volunteer activities, hobbies, travel, and other experiences will be analyzed closely for their identifiable skill and knowledge base. Students wanting prior learning credit must identify, articulate, and document their prior learning in the form of a portfolio. When the portfolio is complete it will be evaluated for potential college credit.
One unique program is a Language-Assisted Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) program for students whose first language is not English. Students in this program take M.B.A. and English language courses at the same time. In the process, students improve their academic, professional and conversational English skills, satisfy CityU's English proficiency requirements, and prepare for a career in business administration.
As a global university, CityU seeks faculty, staff and students with international and cross-cultural experience. To learn more about CityU’s programs, visit the website at www.cityu.edu.
