The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applicants for a Grants Coordinator II in The Citadel Graduate College and will work closely with the TCF grants administration function. The Grants Coordinator is responsible for helping to coordinate and develop the grant efforts across the Citadel campus. Will be responsible for researching, funding sources to include; foundations, corporations, government and individuals. Coordinates the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage all aspects of grant proposals. Works collaboratively with other staff to develop and write proposals, in addition to continuation proposals to governmental, corporate, and foundation sources as well as being able to manage the existing and ongoing grants.
Will also work directly with the academic community to identify current programs in need of private support. Serves as a liaison with The Citadel prior to submitting grants request to insure grant requirements can be fulfilled prior to submitting the proposals. Analyzes expenditures to ensure consistency with grant provisions; implements proper procedures and corrects irregularities. Will be responsible for assisting with preparation and submission of requests for external funding, including grants, sub-awards, and contracts. Responsible for developing and identifying program interest from faculty and staff and aid in matching fundable programs with grant opportunities. Provides education and training in all aspects of grantsmanship including grant searching, grant writing, and budget preparation. Provide assistance with grant billing, financial reporting, effort reporting and preparation of federal schedule.
Bachelor’s degree and grant writing experience. Extensive knowledge of federal grant rules and regulations. Must be able to utilize discretion and sound judgment in coordinating grant efforts at the Citadel. Knowledge of grant regulations, policies, guidelines and pertinent laws and program funding policies. Knowledge of the principles and practices of public and business administration and of government accounting and budgeting practices. Ability to analyze situations accurately and choose an effective course of action. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with grant recipients and with local, state and federal agencies. Employee must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of constituents. Occasional after hours and weekend work may be required.
