Description: Under supervision of the TRiO Student Support Services Director, serves as In-Take Counselor for TRiO Student Support Services program. Provides support services for student activities, advisement, transfer, and recruiting. Interviews and assesses student's educational, psychological, and financial needs. Develops Individualized Educational Plans (IEP's) to serve participants. Provides leadership, guidance, and in-service training to all tutors/mentors. Manage an individual student caseload. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions. Maintain compliance with federal regulations governing the project. Ensure all applicants meet federal guidelines for program participation. Must possess a high level of written and oral communication skills; manage multiple tasks; and work well with people. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in counseling or related academic area; or Bachelor's degree in counseling or related academic area and two (2) years of experience in student services programs.
Preferred: Experience in TRiO programs.
