The EOP Counselor provides a comprehensive range of advising services to program students. Acts as the EOP liaison primarily to the College of Liberal Arts and the College of the Arts, as well as some College of Health and Human Services majors and the Center for Undergraduate Advising. A typical caseload is 500 students. Coordinates the EOP graduate school and career planning component for the program, making information available to EOP staff and students through workshops, presentations, and collaborations with the appropriate campus services. Coordinates the yearly EOP Graduate and Professional Schools Fair event and the EOP Recognition Day.
Knowledge of EOP and Educational Equity Services programs. Knowledge of the CSU admissions and academic policies and procedures preferred. Ability to work with a diverse population of students. Ability to supervise student staff.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree with upper division or graduate coursework in counseling and guidance, human relations, or related fields and three years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas required, including extensive experience in academic advising and program planning. Master's preferred.
Full-time/40 hours per week.
Salary: $3,885 to $5,535 per month.
