This job expired 1 month ago.The Department of Music at Bucknell University seeks applications for a tenure-track position in music theory and composition. Expertise in a range of compositional styles/methodologies is desirable, including demonstrated facility with digital music technologies. The appointee will be expected to pursue an active scholarly agenda in composition. The teaching load is the equivalent of five courses per year. Start date: August 2012
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include teaching composition and related courses and contributing to the department's music theory course offerings. The appointee will also be expected to contribute regularly to the College of Arts and Sciences general education program through the teaching of First-Year Student Seminars and team-taught interdisciplinary courses. Any additional teaching assignments will depend upon the appointee's areas of expertise and departmental needs.
Minimum Qualifications
A doctorate in composition preferred, ABD considered. Evidence of successful theory/composition teaching at the collegiate level.
