The Chief Enrollment Officer reports to the President and supervises a staff of 37 in the offices of undergraduate and graduate admissions, student financial services, student administrative support and the registrar. OPPORTUNITIES AND PRIORITIES: There is a sense of optimism and possibility at Bryn Mawr College, which calls for an enrollment leader who is equally optimistic and forward-thinking and can see the College in its totality. The new enrollment leader must be a strong advocate of and articulate spokesperson for the role of women’s colleges in contemporary society, while recognizing that Bryn Mawr is more than a women’s college. She or he must think creatively and expansively about how to position the College in a competitive higher education market, including capitalizing on the advantages inherent in the solid, long-standing consortial relationships with Haverford, Swarthmore and University of Pennsylvania. The new Chief Enrollment Officer should have an understanding of the complexities of achieving an appropriate balance among issues of pricing, financial aid and net tuition revenue and be able to assess the effectiveness of current approaches. Bryn Mawr has a relatively new merit aid program and there exists a need to have nuanced and insightful conversations about financial aid and leveraging.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bryn Mawr College is seeking candidates with a strong and impressive combination of skills and experiences, including: an awareness of market and societal trends affecting undergraduate and graduate enrollment at selective institutions; a keen understanding of the critical role that financial aid plays in an enrollment management program; excellent organizational and planning skills; success in working with domestic and international student recruitment markets; capable of advice and consent--knows when to compromise and when to push back; familiar with current technologies and trends; sophisticated understanding of data, research and information systems; intercultural sensitivity and a commitment to access, diversity, social justice; a good understanding of organizational behavior; exemplary communication and relationship-building skills.
