GENERAL DUTIES: Performs teaching, research, and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise as noted below.  Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments, performing administrative, supervisory, and other functions as may be assigned.

FLSA: Exempt

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION: This is a tenure-track full time position for Fall 2012.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: For Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor designations:

Ph.D. degree in area(s) of expertise, or equivalent as noted below.  Also required are the ability to teach successfully, interest in productive scholarship or creative achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

For Instructor designation:

A Master's degree in area(s) of expertise, and/or active progress toward a Doctorate, or equivalent as noted below.  Also required are the ability to teach successfully, interest in productive scholarship or creative achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Instructor:  Master's degree with a progressive movement towards a doctoral degree in Education with a specialization in developmental reading for language-diverse adult and/or secondary populations.

Assistant Professor:  Doctorate in Education with a specialization in developmental reading for language-diverse adult and/or secondary populations.

Candidates for this position should have at least five years of experience providing reading instruction in socially diverse secondary or higher education settings as well as understanding and experience in applying varied pedagogical techniques to meet the needs of diverse ELL students. Knowledge of current instructional technology is desired.

COMPENSATION: Instructor:  $39,399 - $65,267
Assistant Professor:  $42, 873 - $81,645
