Job Description: Position: Assistant Professor of Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology generalist in the Department of Anthropology.
Responsibilities: We seek a broadly trained anthropological generalist who has the ability to teach Introduction to Cultural Anthropology and other Lower Division and Upper Division courses related to gender, ethnicity and political economy. Candidates will also be capable of teaching at least two Lower Division offerings from among: Global Indigenous Peoples, Folklore, Anthropology of Women, Anthropology of Race, Class, and Gender; and the ability to teach at least two upper division offerings from among: War, Peace, & Culture, Anthropology of Education, Gender Cross-Culturally, New England Ethnic Communities, Contemporary Native Americans, Global Feminism. Geographic Areas Preferred: Latin America and/or Native North America. The successful candidate will also advise students and participate in departmental activities such as program review, curriculum development, mentoring student research, and service learning initiatives. Required Qualifications: An earned Ph.D. in Anthropology and the ability to teach other courses for majors and non-majors.
