Associate/Full Professor of Rehabilitation Science
The College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College invites applications for a senior faculty member to participate in our multidisciplinary Doctoral Program in Rehabilitation Science beginning Fall 2013. We are seeking an individual with an established research program and strong mentorship skills who will build on the College’s tradition of excellence in occupational therapy, physical therapy, athletic training, and rehabilitation science education, practice, and scholarship.
This is a full-time tenured faculty position at the Associate/Professor level. Teaching requirements are at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Minimum qualifications include:
Earned research doctoral degree
Established record of funded research and excellence in teaching in the area of Rehabilitation Science
Strong collaboration skills and experience in mentoring junior faculty
The College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College is part of a vibrant academic and research community that includes 16 schools and colleges across Boston University’s Charles River and Medical campuses, as well as many highly regarded medical and educational institutions in the Boston area that allow for collaborative and interdisciplinary activities. The College offers undergraduate, professional, and post-professional degree programs in a wide range of areas including athletic training, health science, human physiology, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech, language and hearing sciences. Active research areas in the Rehabilitation Science program include effectiveness of interventions for serious mental illness; measurement of function in children and youth with disabilities; motor adaptation and the dynamics of walking; neurorehabilitation; rheumatological disorders; and the influence of environmental factors on home and community participation. The College houses two NIDRR Rehabilitation Research and Training Centers — one in the area of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and one in the area of Rheumatological Rehabilitation.
