BMCC seeks an enthusiastic, multi-talented instructor who demonstrates a strong work ethic and can effectively teach in Biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for lecture and laboratory instruction in both the non-major’s and major’s General Biology sequences as well as in Microbiology. A background in Botany and/or Mycology is preferred. This position will advise students, work with a diverse student population, accommodate diverse student abilities and support the College’s mission. Position is open until sufficient applications are received; applications will be reviewed upon receipt.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications, based on current Faculty Salary Scale.
Required Education: Qualified applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Biology or in a closely-related field with significant graduate coursework in Microbiology-related study. Preference will be given to applicants who also have graduate coursework in Botany and/or Mycology.
Preferred Experience:
• Community college instruction.
• Recent successful lecture and laboratory teaching experience in general biology or microbiology. Experience teaching botany or mycology a plus.
• Experience with modern pedagogic technologies, curriculum development, and modern instrumentation.
• Development of innovative curricula and laboratory experiments in biology.
About BMCC:
The Pendleton campus features a science and technology building constructed in 2001 with fully-outfitted labs and a greenhouse. Additionally the Eastern Oregon Higher Education Center, located on the Hermiston satellite campus and also equipped with science labs, opened in the fall of 2011.

While the main campus sits atop a hill overlooking Pendleton, Oregon, a rural town 200 miles east of Portland, the Hermiston campus provides another rural setting just 30 miles from major regional shopping in Tri-Cities, WA.
