GENERAL SUMMARY:
Bennett College, located in Greensboro, NC is a private four-year Liberal Arts College; one of only two historically black Womens' Colleges in the United States. The Director of Institutional Assessment and Evaluation will design, promote and facilitate a culture of continuous improvement through assessment analysis, evaluation and communication in an evidence-based decision making environment. Integrating collaboration, professionalism, innovation, transparency, teamwork, technology, experience and continuous improvement will be the foundation for all endeavors.

JOB DESCRIPTION
• Represents and assists faculty and staff in the organization and administration of institutional assessment and evaluation
• Coordinates activities of College assessment committees and monitors both internal and external requests for assessment data from these committees.
• Collaborates with unit managers to maintain link between academic assessment institutional effectiveness, budgeting and planning.
• Encourages and promotes the development of activities to improve teaching and learning effectiveness as indicated by the results of academic assessment, including collaboration with academic Division Directors.
• Writes, edits, and publishes monthly College newsletters, annual reports, and articles for external publications describing academic assessment activities and assessment results, including the assessment process, progress and results.
• Presents information on program assessments, academic assessment procedures, data collected, and recommendations for continuous improvement of teaching and learning to faculty, staff and administration inside the college.
• Serves as a liaison representative of the college to accrediting agencies.
• Ability to build networks of relationships on campus and in the broader community.
• Works with campus academic division chairs to assure college wide participation in the assessment process.
• Collaborates with department unit supervisors and other appropriate officials to recommend annual expenditures for the budget for the College assessment and evaluation process.
• Works with Student Affairs to increase student involvement in the assessment and evaluation process.
• Maintains current knowledge of external developments in academic assessment in student outcomes and accreditation.
• Collects and archives assessment data for internal and external use.
• Chairs assessment and evaluation committees as appropriate.
• Supervises Institutional Effectiveness staff.
• Any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Familiarity with, and preference for, promoting balance in an academically rigorous environment is essential.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of the College’s mission, policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of local and community resources.
• Skill in using Skype and Oovoo.
• Ability to respect and work within the College’s processes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work under pressure and attend to details.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelors, Master’s and Doctoral Degree in appropriate area of study.
(Mathematics, Business, Statistics, Assessment and Evaluation)
• Ten or more years of proven successful experience.
• Experience in utilizing technology for generating reports, charts, documents, etc.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Excellence in written and verbal communications.
