Electronic Communications Manager

This job expired 1 month ago.Reporting to the Director of Electronic Communications at Barnard College, Columbia University, the Electronic Communications Manager will work with the Electronic Communications team to provide web consultation, development, production, user support, training, and documentation to users of the website properties and platforms maintained by the Communications office. Under the guidance of the Director, the Manager will be the hands-on expert for the various software platforms that support the main Barnard College website, the alumnae network website, eCRM, and the College’s broadcast email platform and social media accounts. The Manager will consult with the College’s academic and administrative departments on services and projects and train users of Barnard’s web systems to ensure proper usage. S/he will also develop documentation for purposes of consistent work-flow processes, clarity in explaining the department’s current policies, and providing instructional reference materials for users of web systems and e-mail platforms.
The ideal candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with 4 to 6 years of relevant web experience. S/he should have experience both in managing and supporting less-experienced staff on websites built on database-driven content management systems (Drupal or WordPress experience is preferred), and experience managing and supporting an electronic constituent relationship management (eCRM) system (iModules experience is preferred). Candidate must have thorough knowledge of HTML and CSS and standard design programs (particularly Adobe Creative Suite), along with the ability to translate image-based graphic designed into dynamic digital media. S/he should have professional experience and interest in social media. S/he should have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in close collaboration with members of the Communications team and end users.
