The Dean oversees the delivery of academic, academic support and student life programs and services at GWC. S/he contributes to the strategic direction of the college and works in close collaboration with various members of Aurora University’s administrative personnel as a member of the Academic Administration Team, which is chaired by the President. The Dean is the senior university officer based on the Wisconsin campus and therefore has a primary leadership role in fulfillment of the college’s goals and objectives.
Responsibilities: The dean is responsible for oversight of academic and student support programs of the college including the general education curriculum, internship, and assessment programs, as well as the development of grant proposals and new curricular and co-curricular programs. Related to this, the Dean also serves as the primary retention officer on the GWC campus and works in close consultation with university enrollment professionals to ensure ongoing attainment of enrollment, persistence and graduation rate goals.
The Dean develops and implements annual operating plans for George Williams College that are supportive of the university’s overall goals and objectives. The Dean also disseminates an annual report documenting operating plan outcomes.
The Dean oversees all aspects of faculty and staff performance in the areas of academics, academic support, and student life, including hiring, evaluation and professional development of full- and part-time faculty and academic support staff.
The Dean manages the development and implementation of operating budgets in assigned areas of responsibility and serves as primary GWC point of contact on all accreditation, licensure and certification matters at the college.

The successful candidate will represent George Williams College and Aurora University in the most positive manner with a diverse group of faculty, prospective, former and current students, alumni, clients, vendors, and members of the larger community. S/he will understand and affirm key elements of the George Williams College tradition, and uphold the university’s mission and core values. The position requires sound judgment and the recognition that all information must be treated with tact, discretion, and confidentiality. Further, the Dean will serve as a role model for other members of the university community, engage actively in the life of the university through participation in campus and community events on both campuses, and support learning in all professional activities.
Qualifications: The Dean of George Williams College shall possess an earned terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution and a record of teaching, scholarly and service excellence. Successful academic administrative experience at the level of chair or higher is preferred. Experience with community relations also is desired. All academic disciplines will be considered.
