The Asian University for Women Support Foundation (AUWSF) is a U.S. 501 (c)(3) Cambridge-based organization that serves as the principal fundraising arm of the Asian University for Women (AUW), located in Chittagong, Bangladesh. The Asian University for Women is an emerging regional center of excellence that offers a liberal arts education and leadership development to young women from all across Asia and the Middle East, regardless of background. Currently, AUW has over 400 students from 12 countries throughout the region, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, the People's Republic of China, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. The University is in its fourth year of operations.

Job Description: As part of the development team, the Associate Director of Development is responsible for supporting the fundraising operations for AUWSF. He/She will develop proposal content, manage grant proposal development, edit major donor proposals, manage the federal grant applications, conduct research to identify prospective corporations and major foundations, and act as the primary staff contact for the AUWSF Board of Directors. This position requires excellent writing and communications skills.
Responsibilities
• Proposal Writing and Grant Management
o Design and manage the grant application process
o Write grant proposals, major donor proposals for the federal government and major foundations and corporations
o Manage grant reports
• Development Research
o Conduct prospect research on individuals, foundations, corporations, etc.
o Carry out other research tasks as needed including research on university policies, higher education, women’s education, and international development.
• Other Development Tasks
o Write letters on behalf of the President
o Assist with other developments tasks as needed
• Primary Staff Liaison with the AUWSF Board of Directors
o Coordinate Board meetings, agendas, supplementary materials, etc.
o Take meeting minutes
o Maintain Board lists (including other AUW advisory boards), contact information, term records, etc.

Professional Experience/Qualifications
Excellent research and writing skills are required and previous development experience is strongly preferred. Experience with Raiser’s Edge fundraising software is a plus. A Bachelor’s degree is required.
This position may include some international travel.
