Assistant Professor, Economics
The Asian University for Women is an emerging regional center of excellence that offers a liberal arts education, graduate school training, and leadership development to young women from all across Asia and the Middle East, regardless of background. Currently, AUW has over 500 students from 12 countries throughout the region, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, the People's Republic of China, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. The University is in its fifth year of operations.
Assistant Professor level to begin in the 2013-14 academic year. We seek candidates with teaching and research interests in macroeconomics, particularly in the area of economic growth. A specialization in monetary economics or managerial economics would be an added advantage. Asian University values a strong commitment to research, a promise of successful scholarly engagement and dedication to teaching excellence in a liberal arts environment. Successful candidates will teach five courses each year.
Requirements for the positions include: Ph.D. in economics; a substantial record or promise of excellence in scholarship and teaching; the ability to teach a range of courses at the undergraduate levels, including principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics, and intermediate macroeconomics, and at least two of the following applied areas: Economics Growth, Financial Economics, Monetary Economics, and possibly Finance and Accounting.
