The Asian University for Women is an emerging regional center of excellence that offers a liberal arts education, graduate school training, and leadership development to young women from all across Asia and the Middle East, regardless of background. Currently, AUW has over 500 students from 12 countries throughout the region, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, the People's Republic of China, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. The University is in its fifth year of operations.

The Asian University for Women is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach Anatomy and Physiology (two semesters, both with lab) and an additional course be determined (topical course for non-majors or upper-level seminar). Ph.D in relevant sub-discipline required, teaching experience and familiarity with liberal arts education preferred. The teaching load is five courses per year. Additional expectations include: advising senior thesis projects, pursuit of scholarly interests and service to the university.

The AUW is an innovative liberal arts institution with an international faculty and students drawn from across Asia. The University is located in the port city of Chittagong, Bangladesh. AUW values a strong commitment to research, a promise of successful scholarly engagement, and dedication to teaching excellence in a liberal arts environment. We offer a competitive package of salary and benefits, including international health insurance (excluding the U.S.), and housing for faculty members and their families who relocate with them to Chittagong, Bangladesh. This position starts mid-August 2013 and faculty are expected to be in Bangladesh at that time.
