Job Summary/Basic Function
This position is responsible for all aspects of customer service within the Office of Financial Aid. General duties include interaction with students, parents, faculty, and the general public. Assisting with all academic registration, summer orientation, and off campus information sessions. Processing Quality Control Reports. Work involves application of considerable discretion in day-to-day activities; advice and assistance are provided on unusual problems, new assignments and changes in policy and procedures. Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Financial Aid. Work is reviewed through consultation, analysis of reports and observation of results.


Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required with customer service and/or financial aid experience highly desirable. Must possess excellent interpersonal communications skills and be able to professionally assist students/parents. Knowledgeable in all aspects of financial aid, which includes federal/state and software updates. Ability to manage multi-line phone system and/or high traffic reception/information area. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Must be computer literate, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Banner highly desirable. Ability to sit for extended periods of time, view small print on display monitor and access all areas of campus.

Computerized basic skills tests - typing (40 wpm accuracy required), spelling, and grammar - administered following initial review of all applications.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation.
