Enterprise Applications Developer (Banner)

Job Description Summary:
The Enterprise Applications Developer within Information Technology Services works with campus constituents and other IT teams in areas of enterprise application support, with a strong focus on supporting Banner application development and custom code creation relating to this service. As needed, will work with other Applications team members to support the various additional software applications and serves as an integral part of the overall support structure for University software supported packages. Requires a strong collaborative approach with University business owners and data managers. Work closely with the Associate Director of Enterprise Applications on unit goals and core projects which are supported.
BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university.
Three (3) years of experience with application development, documentation, and support.
Regular and Effective attention to detail.
Strong ability to document best practices, source code, and maintain a knowledge base for current and previous applications.
Unix and Linux knowledge.
Excellent communication skills for interaction with users at all levels.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Must be able to follow set guidelines and practices as set forth by the Associate Director of Enterprise Applications.
Ability to sit and view computer screens for extended periods of time.
5 years of experience with web development and applications support.
Experience with ARGOS Reporting in a Banner Environment
Working Knowledge of Banner Document Management and Workflow
Knowledge of Active Directory authentication and CAS.
Experience with database reporting tools and data mining techniques.
Experience in Windows and Apple environments.
Essential Duties Summary :
Meet with client departments and partners to provide IT-related solutions.
Suggest alternative solutions to meet client requirements more efficiently and sustainable.
Understand the benefits of various programming languages and accurately suggests the use of appropriate technology for applications.
Provide key Banner application development and coding support.
Maintains in-house custom applications as well as provide support for third-party applications as they relate to Banner.
Develop established standards applied across all project teams within Enterprise Applications.
Defines, communicates, and enforces coding standards.
Engages in hands-on analysis, review, and design of software, including technical review of code.
Reviews in-house developed code, as well as technologies provided by third party vendors.
Recognizes technical system deficiencies and implements effective solutions.
Maintains user profiles and access rights for various applications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
