Job Description Summary:
Candidates for this position will demonstrate the potential for teaching excellence in the Master of Science in Sports Medicine program and undergraduate Human Performance/Fitness Management Track in the Bachelor of Health Science Program.
Doctorate or ABD in exercise physiology or related field.
Qualifications, competence, and certifications in strength and conditioning (the graduate program’s focus), exercise in special populations and older adults, and/or expertise in exercise and sport psychology are preferred. University teaching experience, ACSM and NSCA certification preferred.
Essential Duties Summary :
Specific required areas of competence include exercise physiology (including techniques), exercise prescription and evaluation, applied kinesiology and biomechanics and the role of exercise in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease. Successful applicants will be expected to conduct and engage in research/scholarly activity in the area of exercise physiology, and/or other related areas of expertise. Successful applicants will also be expected to conduct academic advisement, participate in program and curriculum development, advise and direct student research, and engage Department, College, and University service.
