The Coordinator of Tutoring is responsible for managing the activities related to the Tutoring Office. This includes, among other duties, providing learning assistance to students, supervision of the peer and professional tutors employed by the office, contracting with and supervising the online tutoring program, collecting and analyzing all data from all tutoring labs on campus, organizing the peer tutoring component of the campus math lab, and directing students to the appropriate resources on campus.
Bachelor of Arts degree required.
Minimum of five years of experience in coordinating tutorial programs or other related educational services in post- secondary or high school/post- secondary collaborative tutoring programs.
Minimum of three years of supervisory experience and one year of experience in teaching, tutoring, or training.
Knowledge of federal, state and college regulations governing academic support services and the delivery of services to students with special needs.
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Working knowledge of computer databases and programs. Specifically experience with Microsoft Access and the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
8:30 am - 4: 30 pm M- Friday. The office remains open one evening per week until 6 pm and on some Saturdays. Tutor training is scheduled on some Saturdays each term.
