The Assistant Director eLearning for Continuing Education and Workforce Development is responsible for providing leadership in the development and coordination of online courses for Continuing Education and Workforce Development. Responsibilities include market research and needs assessment, strategic long-range planning; program development, implementation, scheduling, marketing; reporting and budget management; and outcomes assessment. In addition, the Assistant Director assists the Director with new initiatives in technology and online courses
Master's degree in Business, Education, Distance Learning or closely related field required.
Minimum five years' experience and demonstrated success working in distance education associated with online teaching, course development and implementation.
Experience working with online vendors and vendor partnerships for online courses.
Minimum three years' experience in planning and implementing e-Learning projects.
Experience developing syllabi, learning outcomes, performing course/program reviews, and ordering textbooks to support learning for online and hybrid courses.
Demonstrated computer skills including expert knowledge of Microsoft applications, experience with web development and understanding emerging technologies.
Effective supervisory skills and minimum three years' experience in recruiting, hiring, supervising and evaluating faculty.
Experience marketing and advertising courses and programs.
Experience advising students, responding to student inquiries and supporting faculty.
Excellent leadership, organizational skills, interpersonal, written and oral communications including presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and tactfully with diverse, multicultural populations of students, instructors, staff, community representatives, government agencies and the public.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evening and weekend hours and to travel throughout Anne Arundel County to off-campus instructional sites and to represent the program as needed.
