Alfred State College is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic tenure-track faculty member with a true passion for mathematics to teach undergraduate mathematics and statistics.
Teaching approximately fifteen contact hours per semester that range in level from college algebra through calculus;
Ability to teach statistics at varying levels is a plus.
Student advisement, course/program assessment of student learning, and committee membership required.
Minimum qualifications are:
Master degree in mathematics or statistics
Bachelor degree in mathematics with a Master degree in math, math education, or a related field
Desirable for candidate to have:
PhD, ABD, or interest in pursuing a terminal degree in math, math education, statistics, or related field, or a Master’s degree with at least 18 semester graduate hours in field of specialization.
Familiarity with current research findings that pertain to mathematics and/or statistics teaching and learning,
Knowledge of current digital technologies and their application to teaching and learning. Interest in leadership roles (program chair, chair of department assessment committee, college-level committee leadership, state or national conference presentations, etc.).
Interest in University Service (committee membership, faculty governance, etc.).
Relevant teaching experience (college-level or equivalent)
