Chief Operations Officer-ABAC Foundation, Inc.

The COO will provide oversight to the ABAC Foundation and two limited liability corporations, enhancing the College through exceptional fiscal management of these entities. The COO will have in-depth financial and operational knowledge of a successful business or non-profit and apply this toward the advancement of the Foundation. Emphasis areas and scope of work include, but are not limited to, short and long range asset management (including endowments and real estate), board management and development, strategic planning for a non-profit gift repository, estate planning, and working with necessary internal and external constituencies to advance the Foundation.

Day-to-day functions of the position will include interaction with appropriate College personnel regarding prospects, gift strategy, and institution objectives; detailed work related to real estate transactions, holdings, insurances, etc. involved with such; in-depth efforts regarding investment strategies, including communication with investment representatives; financial records oversight of all investors to the Foundation; and hands-on participation in constituent development. The COO will oversee personnel as deemed appropriate by the Vice President for External Affairs and Advancement. The position will also involve responsibilities in other related areas as deemed appropriate by the ABAC Foundation, Inc. and/or Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

Preference will be given to applicants with advanced degrees and certifications, including, but not limited to, the Juris Doctorate degree, Master of Business Administration degree, and the Certified Professional Accountant certification. Applicants must have at least five years of professional experience in business or non-profit organizations and have an integral knowledge of the management and operations of such. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience either working with or serving on volunteer boards of directors. Strong computer and analytical skills are required along with excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Demonstrated success working with people of various age groups and position statuses is desirable. Expertise in the complete Microsoft program offerings and BlackBaud software preferred.
