The Department Head position is a 12-month, tenure-track faculty position and reports to the Dean of Human Sciences. This position involves a combination of teaching, student advisement, and administrative responsibilities. The Department of Behavioral Sciences includes associate degree programs in the academic disciplines of psychology, sociology, criminal justice, and social work. Administrative duties include supervision of faculty, coordination of assessment activities, development of programs and management of the department schedule, and some recruiting. Teaching duties could include Introduction to General Psychology and Introduction to Psychology of Adjustment, courses within the Rural Studies baccalaureate program, as well as the majors courses for the associate degree in Psychology. The department head is expected to exhibit a strong commitment to scholarship in psychology and to ensure the participation of faculty in scholarly activity.
Terminal degree in Psychology required; Minimum of 3 years of college-level teaching experience; At least 2 years of relevant administrative experience.
