Associate Professor of Math/Head of the Department of Mathematics
The Math Department Head position is a 12-month, tenure-track faculty position and reports to the Dean of Science and Mathematics. This position involves a combination of teaching, student advisement, and administrative responsibilities. This individual will be responsible for supervision of eight full-time and approximately twelve part-time math instructors teaching both remedial and collegiate level math courses. Administrative duties include supervision of faculty, coordination of assessment activities, development of programs and management of the department schedule, and some recruiting. The Department Head is expected to exhibit a strong commitment to scholarship and student oriented learning and to ensure the participation of faculty in scholarly activity.
Doctorate in Mathematics or Mathematics Education with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in mathematics.
Minimum of 3 years of college-level teaching experience; At least 2 years of relevant administrative experience.
